It’s here! It’s here! The updated Simsie Save for Seasons! It took me a really long time to get it ready for release because there are so many townies (I had to give new outfits to 256 Sims yikes) but we did it! We got there!
I “fixed” the entire Sims 4. I went in and renovated every community lot, filled every empty lot with new homes and locations, and created new CC free townies to fill every empty house in the game.

Pleated Tank Dress with Bow.
Another mash up dress. This one combines the top of an outfit from Cats and Dogs, which I made into dress length, with the top of a base game dress and I threw in a white bow for good measure. Made from a mixture of TS4 textures. Mesh edit by me. Comes in 32 colors.
File this under “super obvious yet I always seem to forget it.”
I don’t write romance (I totally respect people who do, though!) but this is also great writing advice in general! What is preventing the protagonist from achieving their goal?
Why can’t these two people be together now?
Why can’t the mystery be solved now?
Why can’t they overthrow the evil overlord now?
If you don’t have a solid answer for these questions, that’s a good indicator that the plot could use some more work.
Also test your answer a little bit. If it’s as thin as they’re just refusing to sit down and have a simple conversation, you might want to re-think how things are going.
As a beta reader/editor, I tend to ask this question a lot: “Why are they doing it this way when there’s a much easier path available?” That’s not to say that they should take the easier path, because that would usually be boring. Instead, the point is that the question needs an answer–either eliminate the easier path or give them a very clear reason for not taking it. (And if I’m asking the question, that reason isn’t as clear as you think it might be.)
I find it very difficult to root for characters who have a sensible option available and just don’t take it. If the only reason is “Because there wouldn’t be a story otherwise,” you haven’t actually found the story yet.
And this is why the Big Misunderstanding as a primary plot device is almost universally disliked.

I feel like a lot of people don’t know how helpful the search function on sssvitlans can be for when people don’t take wcifs. Because it is so wonderfully organized, narrowing down cc to what you want can be really easy. Like let’s say you see a girl sim with maxis match, medium length hair with bangs in a gameplay.
The #s4hair+medium tag is 269 pages long. #s4hair+bangs is 147 pages long. #s4mm+hair is 742 pages and s4female+hair is a whopping 1153 pages. That’s daunting. No one is gonna click through all that to find one hair, but if you combine them and put them in the search like “s4hair+bangs+medium+s4mm+s4female” it narrows your search down to 20 pages and if you’re fast, it’ll only take you a few minutes to scroll through them. This way, you’re not wasting the time of both yourself and someone who doesn’t take wcifs by not listening and asking where you can find something anyway.
